Yuzu & Calendula

I love the look of this soap. This glycerin soap is scented with Yuzu...a sparkling grapefruit scent...also added to the soap is calendula flowers.
Calendula (kə-len-jə-lə) is beneficial in skin care to soothe inflammation and is known for its antiseptic properties.
We make calendula soap in the above glycerin soap, and we also have it in an unscented cold process soap.

Swirls of Lavender

I love lavender. I find it calming, soothing and just a great scent. For this soap I thought I would try swirling again....I didn't do half bad. :)

Our Son is Home

We went to Missouri this past week for our sons homecoming from Afghanistan. He has been there 9 months, and this was his third and hopefully last tour before he retires.

Here is the returning group, our son is front row third in from the left.

This is my favorite picture, a reunited family of our son with his wife and daughters.

Up next were hugs for ma and pa.
The whole family is thankful to have him home safe and sound.

Bubble Gum Bubble Gum in a Dish...

How Many Pieces do you Wish...

I made some Bazooka Bubble Gum scented soaps. First I made the gum balls, then embedded them into goat milk soap.

I should have added a pink or a red for a little more color contrast, but even still it looks good and smells yummy.

You can purchase them here.

Satsuma Guava Glycerin Soap

Can you tell I am obsessed with my new mold? I cannot stop making soaps in this perfect sized mold.

Todays soap is a pretty yellow and white swirled soap that is scented with Satsuma Guava...A tropical fruit paradise with green fruity notes of guava, lemon and orange with an addition of sweet jasmine and neroli.

The glycerin soap is colored with yellow mica, and then "swirled" with goat milk soap.

You can purchase this fabulous smelling soap by clicking here.

Building Bird Houses

The Hubs and our youngest grandson were busy today. We found a pile of old license plates while moving, and we had some old boards we pulled out of the house during the remodel...add a few nails and we have a bird house. I love how the natural knot holes make for perfect "doors". All that is needed is a perch at the bottom of the hole.

Here is Orion...pretending to be a tree...don't ask...this kid can always make me smile.

I think they did a fabulous job and I cant wait to see our houses lined up next year...we had 2 store bought houses hung this year and both were occupied...I hope we get even more moving in next year. :)

Day at the Beach Glyerin Soap

Who doesnt love a day at the beach? I do...but living in Arizona there isnt much oceanfront property. :(
So how about a staycation to the beach in your very own shower with this ocean inspired beachy scented soap.

The "sandy" base is made of oatmeal soap...the "ocean water" is blue mica colored glycerin soap...and the "foamy waves" are made of goat milk soap.

The beach scent is a Bobbi Brown type fragrance...Sand, Sea Spray, Salt, hints of Jasmine and Mandrin.

These bars can be purchased by clicking here.

Cucumber Cantaloupe Glycerin

I am MP soap swirl impaired...but I keep on trying. Today was a very good attempt. I was a bit unsure as I had gotten the white a lil too hot, and it wasn't cooling down fast enough so I just went for it and hoped for the best....

After I cut the loaf...I was very happy. The white did take over, but I think it still gave a beautiful look. What do you think?

You can purchase one (or more) of these bars in our Etsy shop.

Red White & Blue

I saw this great tutorial on the Soap Queen's Blog and I thought it would be the perfect first project to break in my new cube mold.

Layer one...my red looked more pink while making it so I was a bit worried, but it looked red when the other colors were added...so here is layer one all "roughed" up....

I did the same with the white goat milk layer, and then poured the blue...unmolded...and WAH WAH :( no where near as nice as the Soap Queen's results...guess that's why she's the queen huh? :)

So what to do when you get lemons? Make lemonade...I cut them in half to reveal the gorgeous wave of layers I intended...YAY! I love them!

You can purchase these fun guest sized soaps in our Etsy shop for $3 each. They are scented with a sugared raspberry scent, perfect for summer.
